THINGS TO DO - HEMEL-EN-AARDE WINE ROUTE

Hemel-en-Aarde Wine Route

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Hemel-en-Aarde, which translates to heaven and earth, is an up and coming South African wine region which stretches from the Overberg mountains to the shores of Walker Bay. The picturesque coastal wine route has risen to prominence in recent years. It is particularly well known for its pinot and chardonnays, which are influenced by the area’s unusual proximity to the cooling winds of the South Atlantic and its southerly location.

The Hemel-en-Aarde wine route now boasts more than 20 wine producers, many of which are small, family run wineries, creating high-end vintages.

The wine farms are located about an hours’ drive from Villa Marine Guest House, making this an excellent day trip to explore from your base at Pringle Bay.
